Ready for Santa.

Well, Thanksgiving has come and gone. With so much cooking it passed me by in a blur. The very next day the dreaded flu struck our family. Honestly, I am sure this strain of flu is much worse than usual. I can normally carry on business as usual, but not this time. I was literally knocked off my feet. I hibernated on the couch for 48 hours with hardly enough strength to make it to the bathroom. Unfortunately, two of my sons, both my parents, and one grandchild (so far) also had it. Rough stuff! I hope your family is spared.

I am sooooooo ready for Christmas! Have the tree up and the stockings are hung with those very expensive hooks that won't rip the varnish off the mantle and you just pull the tab to release them. When all the kids are well, I'll send one of the boys into the woods to gather mistletoe and holly for decoration. My siblings and I take turns holding the annual Christmas party for the entire family. This is my year to host. Thankfully, I have a basement that's large enough to hold the masses. I'm thinking barbecue with all the trimmings this year. Yummy!

It isn't even Dec. 1st  and I have all my gifts bought. Of course, I start Christmas shopping in September. Then, when Christmas Eve arrives I put the grandkids in the snuggly pajamas I buy for the occasion and we open presents in front of the fire. My favorite day of the year!

I hope everyone has a very Merry Christmas and Santa brings exactly what you wished for!!!!!!

Lynna's Rogue

After many, many hours of alone time with my computer, I have finally finished Lynna's Rogue, my historical romance, and released it. Talk about a shocker. After two days it is now #6 on the free top 100 historical romances for Kindle and #64 on the overall free top 100. If it happens to reach the coveted #1 spot you will all hear me shouting from the rooftops! Almost 5200 people have downloaded it.  I am absolutely thrilled! Thank you all so very, very much!

On another note, it's time to vote. I was tempted to vote early but I like being in the excitement of election day. It doesn't matter who you vote for, just go vote. May the best man (for our country) win!

Have a great week,
Kitty

Good morning, friends.

Wow, it's windy out there. I'm in central North Carolina and it's really whipping around here. I can only imagine what the folks on the coast are going through. I pray for everyone in the Northeast as Sandy comes ashore and can only hope the damage will not be as bad as forecasters have predicted.

Well, I have been working on Lynna's Rogue practically nonstop for the last couple of weeks. For me, writing books are a breeze compared to formatting them for ebook readers. Admittedly, I am new to this, but it seems like I have ended up formatting a 316 page book practically line for line. It has been a chore, but, thankfully, I can finally see the light at the end of the tunnel.

Had a rather hectic weekend. My 11 year old granddaughter had invited a few friends over for her annual Halloween party at my house. I had just gone into the kitchen to prepare hotdogs for supper when I glanced out the window and saw my mom, who lives next door, lying on the ground. You can imagine what thoughts were racing through my mind as I flew out the back door. Luckily, she had only fallen off the porch. I say lucky because my first thought was a heart attack.

At our local hospital we were told that she had a broken rib and a small brain bleed in her head. They put her in a neck brace, strapped her to a board (she was not happy at all about this indignity) and whisked her to a Charlotte hospital via ambulance. My sister and I followed along behind where we waited, as one typically does in an emergency room. Finally, she was put to bed in her own room around 4:00am. Rough night to say the least. Thankfully, she was released the next day, sore, but happy to be headed home. It could have been a lot worse. Thank God that it wasn't.

Have a great week, everyone. And stay safe!

Welcome!

First off, let me say that I am new to blogging. Hopefully I will get better at it as we go along. I hope you all are enjoying my first published book – Beware the River.  Currently, I'm working on publishing my second book – Lynna's Rogue. I'm hoping to have it published this November some time and I'll be sure to let you know as soon as it's released! If you like Southern romance you will fall in love with Lynna's Rogue.

Until later,
Kitty Margo
